Head Coach Viliame Temo said the boys did extremely well on the night.
"We are the only club that had fighters fight on both side of the team, Linkyn Macmillan for the country and Corey Thorpe for the City," Temo said.
"The City Team won the Brayd Smith City vs Country this year, the reigning two year country team went down 12 - 11 wins.
"The fight night was organised by the TGW Smithy's Promotion that also featured five pro and title fights on the main Card. Golden Oaks stretched out their support and assisted with the main event of the night."
Temo said he was proud of his two fighters.
"Corey Thorpe did an amazing come back on a very aggressive opponent fighting off Smithy's Boxing," Temo said.
"Corey landed him with two 8 counts early. He was then settled in after taking a couple big hits and managed to wear down his opponent later in the first round.
"Fighting mostly on the back foot, Corey controlled the pressure well and just kept exchanging and countering. The second round was all about having the centre of the ring and putting his opponent on the back foot with control pressure, picking the right punches and making it count, the fight was stopped half way through with Corey winning." Temo said.
Linkyn Macmillian was not so lucky.
"Linkyn did everything possible to get him the win, I thought we had it, but they might do things differently in NSW. Oh well what can we do, keep moving forward we'll take the loss on the chin," Temo said.
