This comes after just one game of the season being played, with Town winning by two points in the grand final replay against Brothers, and Wanderers convincingly beating Black Stars.
The MIRL confirmed the decision in the following statement:
"We have now had official confirmation from QRL instructing that community rugby league games and training will we suspended until first weekend of May. This means all juniors, senior and carnivals. This will be continually reviewed as the COVID-19 situation evolves.
We understand what this maybe frustrating but our main concern is to keep our Rugby League community and wider public safe. We strongly encourage everyone to practice social distancing and please take care of each other.
MIRL committee along with club committees will meet this week to discuss future plans and endeavour to inform you all by the end of the week."
