On Sunday, March 15 between 5pm and 11pm, a black Holden Colorado was stolen from a business on Simpson St, Mount Isa.
At 11.30pm, police were parked at another business along Simpson St when the stolen vehicle pulled up beside them and kept beeping the horn, an incident caught on video.
When police observed the stolen vehicle with a group of youths in the car, the car has driven dangerously and at speed back onto Simpson St.
Police received multiple reports from members of the public in regards to the stolen vehicle driving dangerously around town.
Police have tried to intercept the vehicle again during the night and have nearly been hit by the stolen vehicle on two occasions.
A police officer had his foot run over by the stolen vehicle when the youth stopped right by the officer and then took off again.
The vehicle was located the following morning in Mount Isa.
A 15-year-old Mount Isa boy and a 12-year-old Mount Isa boy have been charged with unlawful use of motor vehicle.
Both boys will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act 1992 and investigations are continuing.
