Although Mr Katter said there were no cases in his electorate yet, he said things were very serious and we need to control things as best we can.
"Something we can do at the moment that's not talked about so much, there's a lot of elderly and frail people in our community that don't want to get out," Mr Katter said.
"Some of them are scared of going down the pharmacy or the shops and need some assistance
"That's where there is a gap in services that we need to try and fill."

Mr Katter said his office was putting the call out to the community,
"If you are available and willing to help on that basis please contact my office in Mount Isa or Charters Towers and we'll try and put you in touch with volunteers who can coordinate that and we can help those elderly and frail people through this time," he said.
"It is a minor way we can help out in this time."
His call comes as a new Mount Isa Community Assistance group has been set up on Facebook to help those in need during the pandemic.
