If elected on Saturday March 28 Ms Slade said that she will lobby the Premier of Queensland Annastacia Palaszczuk and the Federal Government.
"I will appeal to both governments to give their full support and commitment to the CopperString 2.0 Project," Ms Slade said.
"CopperString means a new expansion of the mining industry in the north west for the next 30 years and beyond.
"It will mean 750 jobs during the construction stage and around 450 jobs on an annual basis and will ensure we will have major development of the mining industry.
"We see CopperString as an essential part of our solar aspirations and bringing down energy prices, including those of the mines and Mount Isa Water Board and the flow on effects will help our local community."
Ms Slade said the mines in the surrounding areas were already supporting the CopperString Project.
"I'm not entirely sure this council understand the significance of this major development from Townsville to the Gulf. There has been no comment or support shown towards this project from council.
"I give Mount Isa and the north west an absolute commitment the Mount Isa Community Team Council will use the influence of local government to persuade the State and Federal Governments to assist in getting this project off the ground, which will provide wealth, jobs and development to Mount Isa and the north west," she said.
"Growth comes from setting your goals high, and if my team, the Mount Isa Community Team get in to council, we are going to be reaching for the stars, because no-one is going to tell us it's all too difficult."
