In a tweet published 30 minutes ago the Premier said "Cabinet has decided to close Queensland's borders. I'll bring you more detail soon".
The action follows similar moves by South Australia, Western Australia, Tasmania and Northern Territory to close its borders though it will be harder for Queensland especially around Coolangatta and Tweed Heads on the Gold Coast where the border runs up the middle of a street in places while the Gold Coast Airport also straddles the border.

It follows a media conference this morning where the premier spoke about the tough new rules preventing non-essential public businesses from trading and giving guidance on school attendance.
In it she promised more measures were coming.
