Traeger MP and KAP leader Robbie Katter said it was the first positive test of the disease in his electorate and the case was being managed by the Townsville Hospital and Health Service.
"I understand the affected person has recently returned from overseas, and has been in self-isolation since," Mr Katter said.
"I have no further information at this time."

There are still no cases in the North West Hospital and Health Service District, including Mount Isa.
As of Saturday Queensland has 70 new confirmed cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) raising the state total to 625.
Cairns and Hinterland has 19, Central Queensland 5, Darling Downs 21, Mackay 5, Townsville 15 and Wide Bay 16 with the rest in South East Queensland.
Mr Katter asked people to take care and continue to practice the strict hygiene and social distancing measures that are in place.
"Look after one another, and get in touch with me or my office if you need a hand or any advice," he said.
