Richmond Shire Council says it is closing a number of facilities from March 30 due to federal government COVID-19 restrictions.

From Monday the council is closing Bobby Murray Park to the public along with the skate park and junior bike path.
The Fred Tritton Lake and bikepath will remain open for recreational groups of two people only and the 1.5m metre social distancing rule applies.
The Charlie Wehlow Oval also remains open with the same social distancing rules.

Mayor John Wharton said the measures would protect the community and the travelling public.
"The roads to Richmond are open, our businesses are open, our Caravan and RV Park is open," Cr Wharton said,
"We have put precautionary measures in place in regards to travellers but it is business as usual in the Richmond Shire."
Cr Wharton also encouraged people to download the federal government's coronavirus app free of charge to keep people up to date with information.
