Now sadly all three have been cancelled as the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic spreads far and wide.
Last week the Curry Merry Muster Festival on the first weekend of August announced it would not run this year, then yesterday (Monday) the Mount Isa Mines Rodeo, the richest rodeo in the southern hemisphere, also shut down for 2020.
Now everyone's favourite bush rodeo at Quamby, a dot on the map 50km north of Cloncurry, has also been forced to be abandoned.

The Quamby All Sports Association said their rodeo scheduled for July 25 would not be going ahead this year.
"We would like to inform all our fantastic supporters that we have to postpone the Rodeo this Year due to the current Health Situation," the Association said in a statement.
A rodeo spokesperson told the North West Star they were mildly optimistic about having an event later in the year but that would depend on many factors outside their control.
