After a frustrating day in which there were hardly any updates to election results in the North West, the Electoral Commission Queensland said they were doing their best.

"Results are uploaded to the results page on our website as they are received," the ECQ said in a statement to the North West Star."
"The count takes place between 9am and 5pm every day, and is proceeding as planned."
However after Monday when almost no updates were posted to the site, some candidates believed there would be no updates until April 7, something the ECQ denied.

"The 7th of April date refers to the last day that postal votes will be accepted - they have to have been sent by election day, but we allow until the 7th for the postal system to get them to us," the ECQ said.
"All postal votes are counted as they are received, and added to early polling votes and election day votes."
Earlier the ECQ said it was revising its standard approach to counting of votes to accommodate the increased number of postal and early ballots, and apply recommended health measures around the size of indoor gatherings.
"As a result of these operational adjustments, it is likely that it will take longer for results to be declared."
