Regional Express airline has done its third backflip in as many days with the airline saying it will now continue its Queensland services past April 1.
But following a last minute intervention from the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads Rex has now agreed to reverse its decision to suspend services.
Rex will resume full services on Wednesday 1 April 2020 and will introduce a reduced schedule from 2 April 2020 on all five TMR regulated routes.
A final agreement has not yet been reached with TMR on the reduced schedule, however Rex will run the reduced schedule in good faith until April 8 when they warn the total suspension of all Rex's services in Queensland may still proceed.
The Gulf Route will see a temporary reduction from five to three return services a week on Monday, Thursday, and Friday departures (excluding Karumba), Townsville to Winton will run only on Thursday, Townsville Mount Isa will run only on Fridays and the Brisbane-Birdsville-Mount Isa will run only on Monday returning Tuesday.
