The Cloncurry and District Show Society said they made the decision out of concern for the health and wellbeing of the community during the COVID-19 pandemic.
"We would like to thank our competitors, sponsors, exhibitors, local businesses, entertainers and volunteers for their involvement and patience as we complete this process," the Cloncurry and District Show Society committee said.
"Our committee has worked many hours to prepare and will continue to work through the logistics of the organisational requirements that had been started for 2020."

The decision also includes the cancellation of the Cattlemen's Dinner and the committee said section stewards would contact judges, volunteers and sponsors to let them know.
"We as a community will come through this, perhaps with a different perspective on our way of life and with some quality time with the ones we love," the committee said.
"First and foremost we put our family and community first and hope that you all continue to be positive, compassionate and take each day as it comes."
The Mount Isa Show has also been cancelled for 2020.
