Acting Sergeant Carly Leask said that now the school holidays are ending, the community was faced with a new challenge of learning at home with our children.
"As most children will be accessing online learning for at least the first five weeks of the school term, there are some questions you need to ask yourself," A/Sgt Leask said.
"Do you know what your kids are accessing and watching? Do you know who they are talking to online? Will you be sitting near by monitoring the computer use?"
A/Sgt Leask said this was an opportunity to talk to kids about cyber safety and encourage them to talk to parents if they think something is not right.
"Utilise this time to tighten up the security on any apps or games they use," she said.
A/Sgt Leask said there were some some great resources for the family at https://www.thinkuknow.org.au and also at https://danielmorcombe.com.au/.
She said both resources could also be found on Facebook.
