A boy has been charged with serious assault of police after spitting at officers this week.

On Monday, April 27, police attended an address on Walton Ave, Mount Isa in relation to a reported disturbance.
At this time, officers spoke to the residents, calming things down and asking them to go back inside the house, to which they all complied.
About 20 minutes later, police returned to the Walton Avenue address as a large gathering of around 50 people were outside.
It will be alleged a teenage boy, standing at a fence ,turned around to an officer after she spoke to him and spat in her face.
An officer placed the boy under arrest and as they were placing him into the police vehicle he allegedly damaged an officer's watch and then has spat at another officer.
A 15-year-old Mount Isa boy was charged with two counts of serious assault police, wilful damage, obstruct police and commit public nuisance. He is due to appear in the Mount Isa Children's Court at later date.
