Police have issued a number of driving charges in Doomadgee on the weekend including one driver who had 12 passengers in a sedan vehicle.

Police said they were conducting patrols on Sunday April 26 when they observed vehicles not adhering to the traffic rules.
A vehicle driving on Savannah Way in Doomadgee allegedly had two people on the roof of the vehicle and one on the bullbar. The vehicle also had six people inside, however the car only had five seats.
The occupants were issued infringements for failing to wear seatbelts, exceeding registered seating capacity and travelling in an open part of motor vehicle not designed for passengers.
A second vehicle was also stopped by police on Doomadgee Road, Doomadgee and allegedly had 13 people inside.
The female driver was issued with multiple fines for exceed registered seating capacity, driving with an unrestrained passenger 16 years or older, driving a motor vehicle while a passenger at least six-months-old but less than four-years-old was unrestrained, driving a motor vehicle while a passenger at least 4-years-old but less than seven-years-old was unrestrained.
