Mount Isa City Council says water infrastructure upgrade works has begin today on Joan Street, between Deighton Street and Stanley Street.
The works will continue up to and including this Friday and be carried out between the hours of 8am and 3pm each day.
The project will involve the mechanical excavation of water main infrastructure for replacement on the median strip.
This will require water service disruptions to properties on this street.
A road closure will affect access to the section of Joan Street between Deighton and Stanley Street. Local traffic will be permitted for access to properties.
"This may necessitate excavations of median strips, footpaths and/or driveways. These will be promptly reinstated," Council said.
