Temperatures will drop considerably too in the coming days.
A surface trough through the interior is expected to deepen today, moving eastward over the next few days under the influence of an upper level trough. This will lead to an increase in showers and areas of rain from across much of Queensland.
While Wednesday in Mount Isa remains a dry and mostly sunny day with a top of 29 degrees, the mercury dips to just 20 degrees on Thursday with a medium (40%) chance of rain after an overnight minimum of 15 degrees
It will be colder again on Friday with a low of 12 and a top of a mere 17 degrees with another 40 percent chance of rain.
However the possible 15mms the Bureau was forecasting earlier in the week is now just down to 0-6mms on Thursday and 0-3mm on Friday.
Maximum temperatures creep back into the low 20s from Saturday but there is no further rain on the horizon after Friday.
Lake Moondarra is now 81.75% full while Lake Julius is 92.94%.
