The chair of the North West Queensland Regional Organisation of Councils has been re-elected for another term.

The NWQROC passed its congratulations to Carpentaria Shire Council Mayor Jack Bawden on his re-election as North West Queensland Regional Organisation of Councils Chair.
"We look forward to continuing to make more great progress under his leadership, joined by Deputy Chair (Flinders Shire Council) Mayor Jane McNamara," the NWQROC said in a statement.
The NWQROC also said Cr McNamara would represent North West Queensland following her election as Local Government Association of Queensland Policy Executive for 2020-2024 for our region.
Cr Bawden said the NWQROC provided a vital umbrella group for the nine councils of the North West region.
"You've got to be in it together in this day and age and we need to speak with one voice," Cr Bawden said.
"If we all stick together and fight for the region, you've got a better chance."
The North West Queensland Regional Organisation of Councils represents the eight councils of north west Queensland region: Mount Isa, Burke, Doomadgee, Carpentaria, Cloncurry, McKinlay, Richmond and Flinders.
