This week the Zonta Club of Mount Isa have this week completed their annual linen delivery to Serenity House, Nawamba House and Ngurri Ngurri Shelter.
Zonta Club of Mount Isa president Leonie Saunders said once a year they contacted the local women's shelters to see what they needed in the linen area.
"Then we go shopping and buy sheets and blankets and pillows and towels and facewashes, that sort of thing, to help the shelters through the winter with the extra linen," Ms Saunders said.
"We got a lot of blankets this year. We are happy to be back doing something for the community again."
Ms Saunders was recently re-elected at the club's AGM which had to be held via Zoom due the pandemic restrictions.
"We haven't been able to get out and do our usual fundraising," she said.
"We are trying to think of different ways we can still get out there and make a presence so we are doing some work behind the scenes and as soon as we get back to normal, whatever that new normal looks like, we're looking forward to getting back out there.
The Zonta Club of Mount Isa is always on the lookout for new ladies to join up.
