Council unanimous passed a recording Council meeting policy at its general meeting on Wednesday June 10.
While the North West Star has not yet seen a copy of the policy, it will mean they can now progress to live streaming its meetings.
A motion to live stream meetings was defeated in May pending the creation of such a policy and the purchase of $13,000 worth of equipment to video the meeting.
No date has been set yet for when the videoing of meetings will commence though Mayor Danielle Slade welcomed the policy.
"It will be initially confronting but it will get us more involved with the community and will take them on the journey with us," Cr Slade said.
Cr Kim Coghlan also welcomed the move saying it was a step forward for Council and would make them more accountable.
"People can look back at their leisure and know what sort of work is put in by councillors and staff," Cr Coghlan said.
In other decisions, Council has decided to name the lanes in the Mount Isa Horse Paddocks. They will be designated names HP1 to HP17 to make identification easier.
In items of closed business of the May 27 meeting, Council accepted a business case prepared by PwC for the proposed Transport Logistic Centre near the airport and will move to planning and environmental approvals and land acquisition and procurement.
Council also approved $776,000 in contracts to Qcrush (gravel supply), MM Roadways (gravel transport), Local Supply (watercarts), TNH Servicing (sealing) and SPA (mechanical mixer) to reseal Gunpowder Rd, the access route to Capricorn Copper.
They also awarded a contract to Fulton Hogan for $335,080 to reseal Thorntonia - Yelvertoft Road (Shortcut Road).
In Round 2 of the 2019/20 Community Grants and Sponsorship Council awarded grants of $4000 to Apex Mount Isa for 2020 Rock Pop Mime and $2500 for Mount Isa Rodeo Inc.for the 2020 Virtual Isa Rodeo.
