This week would normally be NAIDOC week, a celebration of the achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures. But the COVID-19 crisis meant the week was put off until November.
Bendigo NAIDOC Week Committee chair Aunty Lyn Warren said she was sad when she first heard it would not go ahead in July, but excited for the later event.

Aunty Lyn said the committee was just waiting to see who would get involved.
She said the week meant everyone could come together and celebrate the achievements of Australia's Indigenous communities.
"It's just great, because we all come together, the whole community, from the little ones up to the elders, and it's amazing," Aunty Lyn.
"I just want people to know that we're still there, and we'd love everybody to have their input again, to have a beautiful NAIDOC week at the end of the year.
"We just want people to understand that just because it's not happening now, doesn't mean it's off the radar."
