The application called Parkitup serves the purpose to act as a meeting point for travellers of the road looking for safe spots to park their vehicles, and locals with vacant lots looking for passive income.
Founder of Parkitup Australia Kelly Bethel said too often travellers with their trailers miss out on the pleasure of sightseeing.
"Commuters who are in town briefly with their cattle trucks, horse floats, or goosenecks have trouble finding locations to unhook before running their errands around town," Ms Bethel said.
"We found our research showed that our app would work well in Mount Isa.
"There's a good travelling community and plenty of people willing to lend their land to make some money."
Parkitup is a mobile application platform that can be downloaded for free by both landholders and travellers, enabling landholders to generate income from their underutilised space.
A questionnaire is provided to ensure the security and safety of all parties involved, whether it's identity or insurance.
You can download Parkitup, both on iOS and Android. Alternatively, visit www.parkitup.com.au
