Ben acted in the role late last year following the departure of Brad and Heidi Rix; and loved his time in Cloncurry.
He and his family have moved from Cairns and are looking forward to the further easing of COVID-19 restrictions to roll out more activities and programs for the community.
"I am excited to be officially in Cloncurry and it is great that we can welcome people back to the Gym," Ben said.
"Everyone has been supportive of the booking system and intensive cleaning regime and I have a lot of programs and engagement activities planned for the second half of the year."
PCYC have implemented a staged approach to reopen, with the priority being the Gym and further planning to reinstate boxing, netball, basketball after dark and the chillout room for the youth, following the July 12 easing of restrictions.
Cloncury Shire Council mayor Greg Campbell said physical activity and wellbeing had never been more important as we got back to some normalcy following the COVID-19 crisis.
"Ben's energy and new ideas will be awesome for our town," Cr Campbell said.
"Be sure to welcome Ben and his family if you see them around town."
Cr Campbell lobbied the Department of Housing and Public Works to secure housing for the new PCYC Branch Manager and is pleased the Department was able to provide council with a suitable house.
"I am pleased the Department have supported our Shire with the gifting of the property, as I have highlighted the importance of the PCYC service in Cloncurry for not only our youth but also for the wellbeing of the whole community," Cr Campbell said.
