Local country singer song writer Jeremy Mitchell is hopeful he can make a profession out of doing what he loves.
Recently he nominated himself to be able to play at the Tamworth Country Music Festival where he believes it could kick start his career.
"I have been playing guitar all of my life but only recently have I began to sing and write songs," Mr Mitchell said.
"Every day off I have been around to mates and the parents playing as much as possible as well as playing down at the shack.
"I really just want to get my music out there as much as possible and to one day make it big."
Now 20 years old, Jeremy has been in Isa since he was seven and says he is a country boy at heart.
"I love it here, I'm country through and through, I'm always out of town mustering and hunting, and I'm a production bomber underground in Mount Isa Mines.
