In what is a competition first, only men will play soccer in Mount Isa for 2020.
First year president Lauren Jamieson said this had been difficult.
"This season has been extra hard from the get go with only four teams nominating for the start of the 2020 season," Ms Jamieson said.
"Then in each side there was lack of numbers and interest due to Covid."
Ms Jamieson said they tried other solutions.
"We tried to get a social season running ahead but each team was only getting around six players per team," she said.
"No one really wanted to rally the troops and now there's no season at all.
"There's talks of a social six a side for the upcoming summer but everything is in such limbo at the moment."
Ms Jamieson said the energy would now shift to next year.
"Next year there will be a huge focus on recruiting and rebuilding to try and make next season a fun time for everyone."
