The opening match saw the Tigers notch their first win of the season in emphatic form against the Rovers.
The Tigers dominated the midfield from the get go and led by 83 points at half time with the scores at 89-6.
From there, the Tigers showed no mercy and continued to apply pressure for the game to end at 141-7.
Tigers captain Mitch Godfrey said his side improved a lot from last week.
"We made it a priority to win more of the midfield contests and we did that very well," Godfrey said.
"Our performance definitely gives us more confidence going into this week against the Rhinos.
"For us our stand out player would be Blake Forrester who kicked eight goals and Carl Dorsch who was clinical in the midfield."
Final score Rovers 1. 1. (7) Tigers 21. 15. (141).
In the remaining game of the round, Buffs continued their hot form to become the only team undefeated after two rounds.
After the first quarter, the Rhinos kept up with the Buffs with scores at 21-7 to Buffs.
But from there the Buffs had longer legs and began to open up the field, scoring a flourish of goals with the score finishing at 107-28 to the Buffs.
Rhinos coach Tom Wilsdon said although they lost he was happy with his side.
"It was a pretty good game, the Buffs were the better side and their experience definitely showed, but we had a few good stages and was proud of the guys for fighting hard all day," Wilsdon said.
Wilsdon also highlighted Hasthrope and Ben Ryan for having solid games.
"Next week will be an exciting game with us and the Tigers fighting for second place. We have a lot of new players so we have a bit to work on but the side has definitely improved from last year so hopefully we'll keep improving and be a strong contender in the league this year."
Final score Buffs 15. 17. (107) Rhinos 4. 4. (28)
