Traffic is blocked on the Barkly Highway after a small truck caught fire east of Mount Isa.

Fire services were called to the burning truck around 1.45pm on Saturday July 25, located near Lake Julius turn off.
A motorist reported that the light truck was carrying a fuel pod on the back, when smoke started coming from the vehicle
"Next thing, the truck was on fire and there were a few blokes jumping out of the truck and running away from it," he said.
"There is a lot of black smoke and, traffic is a bit blocked up."
Fire trucks arrived at the scene aroung 2pm.
