As a weather front passes through the state, the Bureau of Meteorology says temperatures are set to plummet.
"This will be driving a lot of dry air across the continent and into the northern parts of Queensland," a BOM forecaster said.
"Temperatures will plummet over the next few mornings and we can expect to see frosts up in the Northern Gold Fields and Southern Peninsular, so that just shows how cold it is going to get.
"North West shouldn't see any frosts due to winds."
The BOM spokesperson said this week would see below average temperatures.
"We will still see single digits below this for 4-5 days as well as dry conditions," he said.
"This should last mainly through this week and over the weekend temperatures will start to creep up to average conditions."
Monday July 27 is expected to be sunny with a top temperature of 25 degrees, Tuesday a minimum of 7 and top of 25, Wednesday low of 5 and top of 25, Thursday low of 9 and top of 28, Friday minimum of 9 and top of 28.
