Today is my first day back after a two week driving holiday that took us across North Queensland before heading down to Brisbane.

While Queensland remains mercifully COVID free the daily news from down south was frightening to hear.
And as we travelled the COVID changes are everywhere: sign-ins to cafes and restaurants, hand sanitiser available at most outlets, links to QR codes for contact tracing, roadside signs warning us to stay safe.
It's not normal but it may become the new normal.
The requirements to leave details on entry to cafes before sitting down is certainly a wise one but it leads to changed behaviour, such as ordering more take away in our case when we didn't want to go through the hassle of filling forms.
It was only when we got to Brisbane did we see more masks in evidence. That could change too if wave 2 breaks out of Victoria and its NSW hotspots.
Stay safe Queensland, the worst is not yet over.
