Friday's forecast is for a top of 25 with light winds and sunny weather before getting down to seven degrees overnight.
The Bureau of Meteorology expects similar conditions for the rest of the virtual rodeo weekend before it gets warmer with temps of 29 on Tuesday and climbing to 31 by Thursday.
Sadly there is no more rain on the horizon.
Mount Isa had 4.8mm of rain up to 7am on Friday.
Around 2mm fell around 5pm Friday and there was another 2.5mm around 8.30pm accompanied by some thunder and lightning.
Cloncurry did better still with 18mm, Julia Creek had 5.0mm, Birdsville had 8.6mm Hughenden had 1.6mm though Normanton and Burketown in the Gulf missed out as did Camooweal, Boulia and Richmond.
As of Wednesday Lake Moondarra was 72.48% full while Lake Julius was at 87,34%.
