As the official representative for the Australian Professional Rodeo Association, the Miss Rodeo Australia committee made the decision to extend Ms Taylors reign until the end of 2020 in-line with their international titleholders.
Ms Taylor said she was blessed to have the opportunity to see out the rest of 2020 as Miss Rodeo Australia.
"With my only appearance so far this year being the Mount Isa Mines Virtual Rodeo, every opportunity to represent the APRA and our wider rodeo family is even more special," she said.
"I was very proud to play a small part in what is most definitely a unique event, that showcased the determination of the Mount Isa Rodeo to give competitors and opportunity to compete, but also our sport's ability to adapt and rise to the challenge that not being able to hold traditional events threw.
"I very much hope that next year we will be able to crown another young lady to carry on the Miss Rodeo Australia legacy and get back on the road and do what we love again. Until such time, I hope everyone stays safe and healthy. We are all in this together."
The Miss Rodeo Australia committee said they would make an announcement regarding the 2021 competition in the coming months.
"As a national title, we want all young ladies from across our nation who are eligible to have an equal opportunity to compete for this prestigious honour, which due to border restrictions still in place at this time is not possible," the committee said.
"The Miss Rodeo Australia Organisation is also in need of volunteers and we would like to hear from anyone interested in joining our committee to ensure the young women of our country continue to have the opportunity to represent our great sport, the western and rural lifestyle and last but not least, our great nation into the future.
"Our organisation is entirely run by volunteers who generously donate their time to the organising and running of Miss Rodeo Australia including the pageant and supporting Miss Rodeo Australia in her travels."
