Detectives are investigating after a man sustained serious injuries as a result of an assault at the Irish Club in Mount Isa on Saturday night.

It is alleged around 11.50pm on August 29, a 36-year-old Beerwah man was targeted by an unknown man who hit and kicked the man in the head multiple times.
A 22-year-old man from Toobanna near Ingham tried to intervene and was also assaulted by the unknown man.
The Beerwah man was transported to Mount Isa Hospital for treatment and later flew to Brisbane on Sunday to receive surgery for a broken jaw.
Police are asking witnesses who attended the bar to come forward.
The unknown man (pictured) is described as Indigenous, a solid build and was last seen wearing a red shirt, a cap, black shorts and white shoes.
