A Mount Isa man has been charged for driving erratically without a license and drugs in his system.

On Thursday, August 27 at 4.50pm, police observed a vehicle travelling at speed through the suburb of Winston. After a short time, police noticed the vehicle stopped on Miles Street and the driver had left the vehicle.
After assistance from the Mount Isa Police Dog Squad, the driver was located and charged for a number of offences.
The 49-year-old Sunset man was charged with the following:
- Evasion offence type 1
- Driving a motor vehicle without a driver licence (Disqualified by Court Order type 2 vehicle related offence)
- Driving while disqualified and while relevant drug is present in blood or saliva
- Evasion offence type 1
- Driving a motor vehicle without a driver licence (Disqualified by Court Order type 2 vehicle related offence)
- Driving while disqualified and while relevant drug is present in blood or saliva
The man was also issued with two infringement notices for failing to give way and another infringement notice for driving a defective vehicle.
The involved vehicle was immobilised for a period of 90 days by way of number plate confiscation.
The man will appear in Mount Isa Magistrates Court on October 14.
