Tickets for this weekend's Cloncurry race meeting have sold out in two days, leaving many locals disappointed and without.
Cloncurry and District Race Club president Luke Daniels said due to the COVID-safe plan in place, the club could only cater for 500 in total.
"We have a fair few people who are part of the racing group including jockeys, trainers and stewards to run the show, which only allows us to invite 420 patrons," Mr Daniels said.
"Unfortunately for some spectators who wanted to attend, we are completely sold out."
Mr Daniels said he was surprised how fast tickets sold.
"With the new booking system it is hard to determine how tickets will sell," he said.
"God knows how many people we would have had if we were allowed to go out to 1500 or something like that."

Mr Daniels said there were still a lot of rules in place that patrons were required to follow.
"People are still required to sit down while having a drink. You can move around but have to be seated while everyone is drinking.
"We have to design our bar and canteen areas a bit better so people don't congregate, it will be a walk through system and then everyone will be required to sit.
"The new regulations are hard, but I think once everyone gets their head around the COVID-safe plans that are in place, it is doable."
Mr Daniels said at this stage no more tickets would become available.
"We do apologise to everyone but we are working on a plan for our next two race meetings to have extra numbers there," he said.
"If that gets signed off I'm pretty sure on October 9 and 29 we should be able to have a decent crowd and have the chance to come along."
