Between them they have won the past six flags and after Tigers won in 2014, 2015 and 2016 defeating Lake Nash each time, Buffs emerged from the pack to win back to back premierships in 2017 and 2018 with the latter final particularly suspenseful as the Buffs won by just five points.
Buffs were clear favourites to make it a "three-peat" in 2019 having won the minor premiership. But it was Tigers who stunned them in the grand final winning by a 67 point margin to gain sweet revenge.
This year Tigers were determined to unseat the favourites again and after a close first quarter it seemed as if the black and the yellow could be celebrating again.
But Buffs gradually showed their class leading at half time and pulling away in the premiership third quarter to lead 12.6 (78) to 8.3 (51) at three quarter time.
Only the Tigers' accurate kicking for goal was keeping them in it and when they kicked the first goal of the final quarter the margin was back to 19 points and anything was possible.
But Buffs deflated them with a return goal almost immediately and the game was up.
Tigers were unable to make any further impact on the scoreboard while Buffs racked up another five behinds to see out the match.
They ran out winners by 32 points. Buffs 13.11 (89) beat Tigers 9.3 (57)
