James Bambrick made this suggestion during a recent meeting with economic development group MITEZ
"Some of the larger cities have such a home for those organisations who are in the business of promoting their area so why can't we," Mr Bambrick said/
"There would be many people who would not know where the home of the Chamber of Commerce, or the various tourism groups or even where the department of state development is."
Mr Bambrick said he would like to see a "one stop shop" where people who want to invest in Mount Isa require information or present ideas can come and talk to the various agencies/
"If elected I intend to convene a gathering of all such groups and seek their views and maybe seek a meeting with the Minister for State Development and the Minister for Tourism to see if any assistance would be available to get a Mount Isa Enterprise House established,"he said.
Mr. Bambrick said it could be established at very little cost as most organisations already have premises and staff scattered around the City.
"Imagine the Chamber of Commerce, the Rodeo Committee,, MITEZ, the Tourism Groups and many more all under one roof," he said.
"We would be seen as a City on the move especially with the coming of CopperString and other projects in the pipeline"
Mr Bambrick said he wanted to send the message out loud and clear that Mount Isa is alive and well,
"Come and visit us, Come and Do Business with us, Come and Holiday with Us, Come and see the World's greatest rodeo, Come and invest with us and come and live with us," he said.
