Walter Baker, 28, was found dead on Sunday morning September 27, after announcing at the Burke & Wills Rodeo the night before.
PBR Australia said they were saddened to hear that Walter Baker, a deeply loved and talented rodeo announcer, has passed at the age of 28.
"May he Rest In Peace and we send our deepest condolences to his family and friends," PBR Australia said.
Friends have also posted a flood of tributes to Walter on social media.
Adrian Chong said "Rest in peace my brother I'm sorry I never got there to go fishing with ya, you was a good friend with a heart of gold, you will be missed. Hope there's a few old cowboys up there that will give you a lift to the next rodeo."
Chloe Butler said "One of the most friendliest and biggest hearted fellas, Walter everywhere you went you spread laughter and good vibes."
Brett Murphy said "Brother, I'm gutted and still in shock by your passing. I guess something we can all take comfort in is at least you went out doing what you loved at Burke & Wills rodeo.
Zoe Searle said "I sure am going to miss the goods yarns, the laughs and that cheeky smile. RIP Walter Baker. The good horsemen that are up there must of needed a bloody good announcer for a show they are organising."
Jennifer Hetherington said "Rest In Peace Big Fella, you've left a lot of lasting memories that's for sure but god felt you're needed to look over everyone now. Guide us and protect us until we meet again. Hope they have that rodeo mic ready for you up there, green pastures, fat horses and some old cowboys ready to shake your hand at the pearly gate."
A Qld Ambulance Service spokesperson said they attended a medical incident at a camping ground off Wills Developmental Road and Burke Developmental Road at 8am on Sunday morning.
"As this case is medical in nature, we won't be releasing any further information," they said.
