PCYC Queensland Chief Executive Officer Phil Schultz welcomed the announcement on Monday September 28 and said the much-needed funding would go towards supporting facility upgrades and additional youth and community programs.
"PCYC Queensland is grateful for Glencore's ongoing support. The funding will allow us to improve the PCYC Mount Isa facility for members and allow staff to focus on increasing the youth engagement and early intervention programs on offer," said Mr Schultz.
"The aim is to improve the club's appearance and give our members a refreshed facility, with repairs set to include new flooring, a new audio system throughout the entire club and new furniture and fittings in the Youth Zone."
Glencore Queensland Metals HSEC General Manager Maryann Wipaki said Glencore was proud to continue supporting PCYC Mount Isa so the club could keep delivering quality, affordable services to the community.
"Glencore funding is directed towards projects and initiatives that support the priorities and needs of our communities, with an emphasis on capacity building and sustainable outcomes," said Ms Wipaki.
"By supporting projects like this we seek to positively engage young people and provide youth and community programs for the whole community," she said.
