While conducting a search of a dwelling on Mornington Island on September 25 in relation to another matter, police located four 10L bottles of home-brew under a kitchen table and a further two 10L bottles of home-brew in a bedroom.
Mornington Island is a declared restricted area in accordance with the Schedule 1B of the Liquor Regulation 2002.
An Alcohol Management Plan is operational in relation to the Mornington Island Aboriginal Community.
A 37 year old Mornington Island woman was charged with possessing liquor in a restricted area and is due to appear in Mornington Island Magistrates Court on October 13.
