The draw held in Mount Isa on Sunday afternoon saw James Bambrick claim first position ahead of the Greens Kristian Horvath with incumbent Robbie Katter third.
The LNP's Marnie Smith was fourth, Philiip Collins of Clive Palmer's UAP was fifth with independent Craig Scriven in sixth spot.
Of the candidates only Mr Bambrick and Mr Scriven were present and both were happy to have scored the first and last spot respectively.
Robbie Katter is defending the seat with a healthy margin and his challengers are the LNP's Marnie Smith, Labor's James Bambrick and independent Craig Scriven.
The KAP, ALP and LNP candidates held a debate in Cloncurry on Friday where topics discussed included home ownership, liveability and youth crime in Mount Isa.
Candidates now have three weeks to get their message out with early voting to start on Monday October 19.
The election will be held on Saturday, October 31.
