Australian country music artist Casey Barnes could nearly be classed as a local as he returns to Mount Isa for the third time in two years, performing at Wonderland Under the Stars.

Casey Barnes made his Mount Isa debut with Lee Kernaghan at the Mount Isa Rodeo in 2019, before returning again in 2020 for the Mount Isa Virtual Rodeo.
He is back again to perform as part of the Wonderland Under the Stars on October 23-24.
"I am looking forward to coming back to Mount Isa and being part of this unique experience," Mr Barnes said.
"I have been watching a lot of the Wonderland events online. We were going to be part of their event in Port Douglas and Townsville, but then this opportunity came up to visit Mount Isa again and we thought it was a perfect fit.
"It is going to be fun for everyone, we can't wait to come up, play songs off my new album and the live show we have been rehearsing."
Mr Barnes said he was pleased COVID-19 restrictions had eased allowing him to tour again.
"It has been a tough year for everyone, the music industry has been hit pretty hard. That is not just me, it's a lot of the guys behind the scenes who don't get recognised like road crew, band members, sound and lighting guys, right down to people who do security and tour managers.
"We are very appreciative to finally be back and playing live again and hopefully this is the start of a bit of normality. We all like going and seeing live music so we cannot wait to get back out and do it again."
Mr Barnes said he was bringing his full band to Mount Isa, as well as country music artist Natalie Pearson.
"Natalie is very talented and is definitely someone I would be coming along to watch," he said.
"This is not the first time we have performed together. Natalie used to sing backing for my band, but is super talented and has since started her own career and releasing her own music."
Mr Barnes said after the Mount Isa concert he would stay on the road to perform all over Queensland.
"After Mount Isa we are continuing a tour throughout the rest of Queensland for the remainder of the year," he said.
"We head to Mackay, Rockhampton, Bundaberg, Cairns and Townsville.
"I love writing music and being in the studio but my favourite part is playing live, and that's the part we have missed the most."
Mr Barnes was looking forward to celebrating his first ARIA nomination for Best Country Album. Finalists will be awarded on November 25.
