The job-creating commitment includes a $400 million regional investment in Works for Queensland and another $280 million for the Transport Infrastructure Development Scheme.
Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said Works for Queensland had made important local infrastructure projects possible while supporting thousands of jobs in Queensland's $11 billion plan for economic recovery from COVID-19.
"Western Councils have welcomed every single Works for Queensland round in the past," the premier said.
"I know the massive impact this program has on supporting jobs in regional areas.- That included $2.6 million for Mount Isa City Council in this year's $200 million COVID Works for Queensland program.
Labor Traeger candidate James Bambrick said Western councils could depend on a productive working partnership.
"Our funding record is clear to see, and so is our future commitment,"
Transport and Main Roads Minister Mark Bailey said a re-elected Palaszczuk Government would continue to deliver local jobs through the Transport Infrastructure Development Scheme.
"This is $280 million over four years to ensure local transport projects and local jobs are supported for local councils and their communities," Minister Bailey said.
The Transport Infrastructure Development Scheme supports infrastructure projects across Queensland through a 50:50 split between State and Local Government.
The $400 million Works for Queensland commitment will benefit 65 regional councils and support up to 11,800 jobs across regional Queensland and in many cases will make the difference on whether vital local infrastructure projects can go ahead.
