Mr English, 37, from Caboolture went missing in February 2019 and was last seen in the Northern Territory have traveled through Mount Isa to the Barkly region, where he last contacted his family.

Queensland police today said the remains found near the Barrow Creek station on September 24 by a member of the community were those of Mr English.

Police said there were "no suspicious circumstances around his death" and a report will be prepared for the NT coroner.

In August the Australian Federal Police highlighted Mr English's situation as the face of Missing Persons Week.

He left Caboolture early last year and had visited Mount Isa before driving to Tennant Creek in a dark grey Ford Falcon.

He texted his parents a photo of the town sign for Mount Isa in Queensland on February 11, 2019.

"That's one ticked off the bucket list," he wrote.

It was the last contact made with his family.

Police confirmed he called in at the Barkly Homestead where he was last heard from though he was seen in Tennant Creek, believed to be heading south.
