The cohort were the first group to start Prep in Queensland, Year 7 as secondary students and the first cohort to go through on the new QCE Senior system. But perhaps they will be remembered most for being the Year 12s who navigated the challenges of finishing high school during a pandemic.
College Principal Kathleen McCarthy stated that, "While the seniors of 2020 had to juggle challenges with curriculum change and pandemic restrictions, they have demonstrated resilience, positivity and strong leadership to the community of Good Shepherd.
"We are extremely proud of the young men and women they have become and we are excited for the change they will make in the world," Ms McCarthy said.
Father Mick Lowcock, local Parish Priest knows the students very well, having baptised many of them as babies.
At the Graduation Mass on Thursday night, Father Mick stated "There are some amazing young people at Good Shepherd and with the values and faith offered to them, I am sure they will make an impact on our world, especially here in Mount Isa."
Many students at Good Shepherd have already been offered apprenticeships, early entry into University and enrolled into the School Leavers' program at Glencore.
