Mayor Danielle Slade said the public displays would include the main show at 9pm for families, followed by a smaller display at midnight.
"With 2020 being a particularly challenging one, Mount Isa City Council together with Xplosive Art are excited to present a joyous fireworks celebration to ring in the new year," Cr Slade said.
The displays promise to take everyone on a pyrotechnical journey as we think of better times ahead post-COVID with brilliant chasing aerial bursts as well as a few surprising special effects.
"We wish the Mount Isa community a happy new year and appreciate that it's time to celebrate after such a tough year and also to enjoy this spectacular event to mark Mount Isa's Centenary in 2023," said Mayor Slade.
"We also encourage pet owners to take care of their pets during the maximum 10-minute shows and thank everyone for their understanding."
Mount Isa City Council is working with relevant fire authorities to ensure the event is a safe one for the community.
