"The Shopfront Revitalisation Grant was established in 2019 as a new initiative for Council to show support for our Cloncurry businesses", said Cloncurry Shire Council Mayor Greg Campbell.
"Council is maintaining its focus on streetscaping throughout the town and increasing the street appeal when driving into Cloncurry. We want to increase livability and showcase the town that we are proud of."
This year, Council has extended the eligibility criteria to include all businesses located in the area bound by Ramsay Street, Station Street, Daintree Street and Sheaffe Street, with the grant now also available for incidental works.
The grant will provide up to $10,000 matching dollar for dollar grants for shopfront improvements.
Improvements may include painting, signage, improving accessibility access and repairs to structural facade.
The grant opened on Monday 23 November 2020 with nominations closing on 14 December 2020 and announcement of the grants on 18 December 2020.
Cloncurry Shopfront Revitalisation Grant guidelines and nomination forms are available online at www.cloncurry.qld.gov.au/grants or at the Council Office 38-46 Daintree Street, Cloncurry.
