Preliminary information indicates the man had been attempting to jump from the balcony into a pool at a Banks Crescent residence in Sunset when he slipped and fell.
QAS said their paramedics were called to a private residence at 8.42pm Tuesday after a male reportedly fell from a second storey balcony and the man was assessed for critical injuries.
Sadly, the man could not be revived and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
QAS also transported a man to Cloncurry Hospital overnight in a serious but stable condition with significant upper body and arm burns following a reported truck cabin fire off Oorindi Mckinlay Road at 11.49pm before later airlifting him to Mount Isa Hospital.
