The Mount Isa Hockey Association will attempt to have another crack at its annual general meeting next week after failing to get a quorum for meetings in November and December.
On November 5 the Association said it had been in talks with Hockey Queensland regarding no nominations.
"Under the constitution we are permitted to extend the nomination and AGM date for 30 days" the Association said.
"At present the association is sitting in caretaker mode."
At the time they said the new date for AGM was December 6 "to which if no nominations are received for all the vacant positions the association will not continue from 2021."
However on December 3 the AGM was postponed again to January 30 with positions vacant including president, administration officer (including finance), facilities coordinator and participation and competitions coordinator.
Hockey Queensland CEO Alison Lyons told ABC 2020 was a tough year for sporting organisation with onerous requirements to make them COVID safe.
"Mount Isa has done incredible work to get a season up and a competition happening but it does get to a point where some volunteers get burn out and perhaps need a break," Ms Lyons said.
She said Hockey Queensland was helping out by calling for support from the community to have a few more people step up and they were hoping to hold an online consultation session with members followed by face-to-face workshops to get a structure going,
Mount Isa has had a hockey association since 1958.
