Following an AGM on February 8, the Curry Merry Muster Festival committee has made the decision to commence planning this year's festival for August 6-8.
CMMF president Janessa Bidgood said the committee had big hopes to host an event this year.
"Obviously everything hinges on COVID-19 and what effect it has on our area, but we followed our AGM up with a general meeting and our decision was to go ahead and plan the 66th Curry Merry Muster Festival," Ms Bidgood said.
"We are starting work on the government regulations and COVID-19 paperwork immediately. We are working on the COVID Safe Plan so that may change how our event is run compared to recent years, but I think everyone understands that is the new way of life at the moment and hopefully by August we can have an awesome rodeo."
After having to cancel their event in 2020 due to COVID-19 uncertainty , Ms Bidgood said they planned to have a big event this year.
"It was disappointing after 65 years in a row of having the Curry Merry Muster, it had to stop, but we certainly weren't the only one in that situation, so we roll with the punches and we will get going again this year," she said.
"At this stage we have the full program underway, including Teddy Bear's Picnic, Bush Poet's Breakfast, Xtreme Bulls and our normal rodeo events, and we will work towards that and adjust any necessary requirements to host these events.
"At the moment we are not sure if numbers will be restricted. We are currently looking into everything and playing it by ear, just because circumstances can change depending on the week, so we are putting the event plan together.
"What we want the broader community to know is that we are committed to creating a really good event in 2021, no different to any event we have held previously, so it is a good opportunity for sponsors to get on board if they are looking for a bit of exposure."
