A national hotel group has snapped up The Barkly Hotel Motel in Mount Isa for an undisclosed sum.

The group has bought the hotel from the privately owned Irvin Hotel Group who put it up for sale in 2018.
Located at 55 Barkly Highway, Mount Isa the hotel is a multifaceted business consisting of gaming, food and beverage, drive through bottle shop and accommodation facilities.
The Hotel is situated on a 1.35 hectare site and consists of a public bar, a sports bar and dining room, a gaming room with 35 machines commercial kitchen, beer garden, TAB and Keno, drive through bottle shop, function area, leased gym to a third party and accommodation of 44 motel rooms plus manager's flat.
The property was sold by Leon Alaban, Tony Bargwanna and Christian Tsalikis of Savills Australia who said the Barkly Hotel Motel offers diverse revenue streams through gaming, accommodation, food and beverage, retail and the leased gym.

"The consistent income is derived from local residents and the thriving local mining industry; the epicentre of which is located within walking distance from the Hotel," Mr Alaban said.
"The property is adjacent to the Mount Isa mine, capturing business from locals and visitors alike."
